Copper Glazing Agent V-Brite 200S

Price range: €13.95 through €179.95

Electrolyte V-Brite 200 is a 2-part glazing agent system for acid copper electrolyte. It delivers a very thin, clear copper layer with low internal stress and maximum detail retention. Ideal for copper-plating plastic, 3D prints and organic material.

Copper Glazing Agent V-Brite 200S

Electrolyte V-Brite 200 is a 2-part glazing agent system for acid copper electrolyte. It delivers a very thin, clear copper layer with low internal stress and maximum detail retention. Ideal for copper-plating metals such as nickel, copper or brass or plastic, 3D prints and organic material.

The system consists of V-Brite 200S and V-Brite X. V-Brite 200S is only added when creating a new bath. V-Brite X is added during preparation and then periodically to maintain shine and sales quality.

Includes dosing syringe to easily measure the right amount.

V-Brite 100 vs V-Brite 200 Copper Electrolyte

  • V-Brite 100 can apply a thicker layer of copper in a short time with high filling power that evens out the surface. Suitable for filling small irregularities.
  • V-Brite 200 applies a thin, shiny layer of copper that is very suitable for preserving fine details.

The finish of V-Brite 100 and 200 is similar in terms of gloss and appearance.

Required to make your own acidic copper electrolyte

(Download the manual in the downloads tab for detailed information)

  • Distilled water
  • Copper sulphate
  • Sulfuric acid
  • Chloride source such as a small amount of hydrochloric acid 32% or NaCl
  • V-Brite 200S starter brightener
  • V-Brite X care brightener
  • Agitation with pump or air and filter material

If you use a lower concentration of sulfuric acid than 96%, convert the required amount so that the same amount of pure acid per liter is achieved. 96% have about 1.84 g/ml.

Composition of copper electrolyte per 1 liter

  • Copper sulphate 90 grams
  • Sulfuric acid 96% 114 ml
  • Chloride ion 40–70 ppm optimal 50 ppm
  • V-Brite 200S new bath 7 ml
  • V-Brite X 1 ml when mixing and then periodically

Short step-by-step plan for producing acid copper electrolyte

  1. Fill the tank to 70–75% with distilled water
  2. Turn on mixing with pump or air
  3. Add copper sulfate
  4. Slowly add sulfuric acid
  5. Supplement chloride to 50 ppm with a small amount of hydrochloric acid 32% or by dissolving NaCl
  6. Let the copper sulfate dissolve completely and filter the solution
  7. Add V-Brite 200S
  8. Add V-Brite X
  9. Top up with distilled water to the final volume
  10. Bath ready. Periodic maintenance with V-Brite X

Please note! Always add acid to water – never add acid to water!

Properties

  • Thin, high-gloss copper deposit with low internal stress
  • Maximum detail retention and good coverage in low-density zones
  • Excellent for plastic, 3D prints and organic material
  • Stable and tolerant bath with predictable dosing
  • Works at room temperature with stable results

What is copper brightener and why do you use it

By adding glazing agent to copper electrolyte, you control properties such as gloss, flexibility, internal tension and the filling capacity. This gives you an even, shiny copper layer that adheres well and also covers neatly in zones with lower current density.

How does the V-Brite 200 system work?

  • V-Brite 200S starter brightener only add to newly created bath
  • V-Brite X maintenance brightener for new bath and then periodic dosing

If you use Verzinkshop copper electrolyte, V-Brite 200S is already processed and you only need V-Brite X for maintenance. If you make your own electrolyte, add both V-Brite 200S and V-Brite X.
