Caswell Plating USA Reprochrome electrolyte ready to use for a very beautiful and unique show-chrome finish.
Self-chrome plating with the appearance and strength of real chrome without high power requirements with Caswell Reprochrome.
The chromium comes from the electrolyte itself, so cheaper stainless steel anodes can be used.
Meet Caswell Reprochrome®, a unique Cobalt/Tungsten alloy from Caswell Plating USA that does not contain chromium, nickel or other toxic materials.
Reprochrome® mimics chrome in terms of color, durability, and corrosion resistance, without the need for an extraction system or a powerful power supply.
Caswell Reprochrome electrolyte is always supplied free brightener: Reprochrome brightener.
Chrome plating with this Reprochrome electrolyte produces a very nice layer of chromium over a nickel or copper base layer within minutes.
To galvanize over existing chrome, the existing chrome layer must be removed by stripping it with the Anodizing & Chrome stripper.
For maximum shine, use the 3-layer system. This consists of copper, then a layer of nickel and then Reprochrome®. By polishing between coats, you get a very bright finish that is identical to show chrome. Ideal for restoring classic cars!
Electrolyte is an electrically charged ion solution used in electrolysis. In this process, the electrolyte is placed in a designated container and an electric current is passed through the electrolyte, the object and the anodes, making chrome plating possible. A power supply is required for this process.
