The electrolyte is available in:

  • 1 liter
  • 2 liters
  • 5 litres
  • 10 litres

Properties of the bronze electrolyte

  • Bronze can be applied to zinc, cast metal, tin, nickel, copper, steel, lead, stainless steel and aluminum treated with Aluminum Activator.
  • The process uses stainless steel anodes: stainless steel anode
  • Directedness guideline: 0.15 ampere per 10 cm²
  • No brightener required
  • Works at room temperature
  • The metal comes out of the electrolyte, and it needs to be replenished or replaced periodically

Bronze making of metal

Bronze can be applied to cast zinc, soft cast metal, tin, lead, stainless steel, nickel, copper and aluminum treated with zincate. For cast zinc, lead and soft cast metal, it is advised to first activate in an acid bath for even adhesion.

Bronze shoes

A common application is the bronze plating of shoes. Verzinkshop offers a complete seller kit for shoes: children’s shoe seller kit. After copper-plating, a decorative bronze layer can be applied with this bronze electrolyte.

Setting up the bath and bronze it yourself

Bronze-plating parts yourself with this electrolyte is easy.

  1. Fill a suitable plastic or glass tank with the bronze electrolyte
  2. Hang two stainless steel anodes in the bath and turn on agitation with pump or air
  3. Connect the red positive of the power supply to the anodes and leave the power supply off
  4. Attach the workpiece to a stick resting on the edge of the bath, dip it in the electrolyte and connect the black minus to the workpiece
  5. Measure the surface to be coated and set the power supply to 0.15 amps per 10 cm². Turn on the power and let the process run until the desired color and opacity is achieved

What is Caswell Bronze Electrolyte

Bronze electrolyte is a solution that allows you to electrolytically apply a decorative bronze layer to suitable metals. By sending current through the electrolyte between anodes and workpiece, bronze precipitates on the surface. A power supply is required for this process.
