Brushplating with Caswell’s Plug n Plate® Gold is a new concept for electroplating small parts. With this set you can cover small objects with a layer of gold. (no real gold)

The unique mains power supply provides just enough power so that you can handle smaller components and submerge them in some situations. (230 v to 110 v power converter required to use the Caswell mains power supply)

the system can also be connected to an adjustable power supply such as the Eleshop lab power supply.

Applying gold to small objects with this handy kit is very simple!

How does gold plating work with Caswell’s Plug N’ Plate®

The Plug N’ Plate® Brushplating system also allows for the restoration of areas where the original applied layer of gold has worn out.

Plug N’ Plate® is ideal for restorers of classic vehicles, collectors and dealers of antiques, such as watches or other jewelry, and small specialist workshops.

The Plug N’ Plate® pin is attached to the red plug on the power supply and the alligator clip is attached to the workpiece. The end of the pen is covered with an absorbent bandage that is soaked in the plug-n-plate solution for a few seconds.

By brushing the part with the pen, the circuit is closed and the gold solution starts to work and deposit its nice layer on the object.

Using Caswell’s Plug N Plate Gold

Plug N’ Plate® is perfect for processing small items such as watches, metal lighters, eyeglasses, and car emblems. Simply remove the chrome layer with Caswell Chrome Stripper and then apply the gold layer. Full instructions are included.

Plug N’ Plate® can be applied to most metals.

• To galvanize stainless steel, use the Plug N’ Plate® flash vendor system.
• Gold on stainless steel: first apply Caswell stainless steel activator for gold with a stainless steel pin and a 4.5V. Then the stainless steel part can be treated with gold.
• Aluminum can be galvanized with the Acid Copper Plug N Plate system, after the part has been prepared with Zincate .
• Plastic parts, or objects made of any other material, can also be copper-plated with the Galvanized V-Brite Copper brushplating system after it has been treated with conductive paint.
