Caswell Penetrating Sealer

Caswell Penetrating Sealer is a water-repellent oil-based and solvent-based sealer for the protection of chemically blackened or bare metal. The sealer penetrates deep into pores and leaves a dry touch with a very light oil film after drying. This helps to displace moisture and limit rust.

Properties

• Suitable after black oxide processes such as Caswell Black Oxide and Caswell Mega Black, and over patina on steel and copper alloys, among others.
• Deeply penetrating, water-expelling film that leaves the surface dry-to-the-touch with a very light oil film.
• Can be applied to wet or dry parts. After chemical blackening, it is preferable to seal directly from the rinsing bath without drying.
• Not intended as passivation. For durable protection after black oxide, sealing is recommended.
• Widely used in automotive restoration, fasteners, tools and decorative metal parts.
• Combustible product. Use in a well-ventilated area and keep away from sources of ignition.

Use

• Dipping: Immerse for 1 to 5 minutes, allow excess sealer to drip off and allow to dry.
• Brush or cloth: apply evenly and let the surface work lightly, then let it dry.
• After drying, light polishing can be done with a clean cloth if desired.

The protective layer wears off over time due to use and environmental influences and can be easily reapplied.
