Properties of the zinc electrolyte

Galvanizing parts yourself – a professional result within minutes

1. Pour the V-Brite Z zinc electrolyte into a bucket
2. Hang the two zinc anodes in the galvanizing bath and connect them to the positive wire of the power supply
3. Clean the object thoroughly. The object must be free of dirt, grease and other contamination for a perfect result
4. Bend and hang the copper tube over the edges of the galvanizing bath bucket and hang the object from it with copper wire in the electrolyte
5. Connect the power supply wire to the copper wire of the object or copper tube. Make sure that these cannot come into contact with the positive wire and anodes
6. When the power supply is switched on, a closed circuit is created and the galvanizing process begins. Adjust the power supply to 0.15 amps per 10 cm² of object area
7. After about 15 to 20 minutes, or longer if a thicker layer is desired, the object is covered with a cadmium look or clear zinc layer

What is V-Brite Z zinc electrolyte

Zinc electrolyte is a conductive solution that allows you to electrolytically apply a protective zinc layer to metal. During electroplating, current from the power supply flows through the electrolyte between zinc anodes and the workpiece, causing zinc to deposit on the surface. A power supply is required for this process.
