Galvanizing Acrylic Metal Sealer

Verzinkshop Acrylic Metal Sealer is a high-quality, water-based acrylic sealer that applies a very thin, structureless, clear and shiny layer. Specially developed to protect conversion coatings (such as black oxide, patina and phosphate) and bare metals from rust and oxidation. To be applied to metal parts that are wet or dry (let excess water drip off first). Suitable for indoor use, for long-term outdoor application we recommend a suitable 2K exterior paint.

Features of the Acrylic Metal Sealer

This water-based acrylic sealer has the following features:

• Forms a hard, clear, shiny and structureless dry layer.
• Prevents further discoloration or oxidation of black oxide coatings and patina on copper, brass and other metals.
• To be applied over bare metals and conversion coatings (black oxide, patina, phosphate).
• Part may come out of the sink wet, let excess water drip off before the object is submerged.
• Application via dipping, spraying or brush.
• Water-based, no flash point, very low VOC content (< 0.04%).
• Suitable for indoor use, for heavy outdoor applications: use a suitable 2K exterior paint.

Key Features of Acrylic Metal Sealer

• Coverage: approximately 70 m² per litre.
• Film thickness when dipping: approx. 0.002–0.003 mm.
• pH: approx. 9.5–9.9.
• Application: normally undiluted, dilution up to 1:1 with water is possible for a thinner layer (note: this reduces corrosion and wear resistance).
• Drying time: dust dry in about 10 minutes, faster drying can be done with warm air or spinning.
• Cleaning/removal (maintenance): the acrylic film can be removed or weakened by highly alkaline cleaners, degreasers or by powerful solvents (e.g. acetone).

Galvanizing Acrylic Metal Sealer Product information

The sealer creates a continuous, transparent, hard film that helps prevent further oxidation and discoloration of treated surfaces. Suitable as a finish over conversion coatings or as clear protection on bare metal. Tank and materials: mild steel, stainless steel, rubber-coated steel, PP/PE and fiberglass are suitable.

Uses of Galvanizing Acrylic Metal Sealer

1. Prepare: degrease and clean, rinse thoroughly. Parts may be wet, let water drip off first.
2. Application: dipping, spraying or with a brush. Move or stir lightly for even coverage.
3. Drains: Drains excess sealer for an even, thin film (no drip formation).
4. Drying: dust-dry in approx. 10 min, if desired speed up drying with warm air or centrifuge.
