Verzinkshop Electroforming Sealer is a safe alkaline waterproof sealer that has been specially developed for electroforming.
The Verzinkshop Electroforming Sealer is a water-based sealer to make porous and organic material waterproof and sturdy before electroforming. The waterproof sealer forms a hard transparent layer on which you can easily apply a conductive coating.
In addition, you can use this sealer to protect completed copper projects from further oxidation. Also suitable as a protective layer on brass and other metals and to fix patina and oxide layers.
With this 2-in-1 sealer you lay a solid foundation and ensure a durable finish for your electroforming creations.
Soft or porous objects such as baby shoes, dried organic material, textiles, paper and wood can cause problems with a conductive coating alone. A small hole or crack allows the electrolyte to penetrate and later cause cracks in the conductive layer or copper. By first sealing the object and letting it dry well, a water-repellent carrier is created that lends itself tightly to a conductive paint layer.
Avoid forced drying on thick layers on porous material to prevent cracking. After drying, the object can be treated with a conductive paint such as Verzinkshop Carbon.
Bare copper, brass, and patina continue to oxidize when exposed to oxygen. Therefore, treat the end result with Electroforming Sealer for transparent satin protection and minimal color change.
If necessary, you can finish projects additionally with Verzinkshop DeepSeal Metal Sealer for extra depth in patina colors.
